Frequently Asked Questions

FILLING YOUR TRICK TANK PORTABLE AIR TANK

Take your Trick Tank to any source of clean, dry, compressed air; a full service station or truck stop is preferable. Modern convenience stores and quick stop type filling stations often do not have sufficient air pressure available to allow you to get the most from your Trick Tank. It is recommended that you fill your air tank until the pressure gauge reads between 85 and 125psi.

STORING YOUR TRICK TANK PORTABLE AIR TANK

Turn the ROUND RED ON/OFF WHEEL CLOCKWISE to the off position when storing your air tank. This assures you of having air available when you need it by preventing the air from entering the hose assembly where it can possibly leak out due to any small particles prevention the chuck from fully sealing . Tank can be filled in the off position.

USING THE TRICK TANK PORTABLE AIR TANK

Turn the ROUND RED ON/OFF WHEEL COUNTER CLOCKWISE to the open position. This allows the airflow from the tank into the hose. Press the tire chuck onto the fill stem on your tire until the air begins to flow. Remove the tire chuck from the tires fill stem when your tire is filled.

DISASSEMBLING AND REPAIR

For repair you will need:

  • Table mounting vise
  • 9/16 7/8 7/16 open-end wrench
  • Thread sealant

STEP 1 - Remove all air from the tank. Pull the ring on the safety opposite of the pressure gauge until the pressure indicates zero and air flow stops.

STEP 2 - use a 9/16 open-end wrench to remove the hose/chuck assembly from the manifold. use 7/16 and remove gauge.

STEP 3 - Invert the tank clamp and clamp the nonported flats on the manifold in the jaws of the vise. Turn the tank counter clockwise 2 1/4 turns.

NOTE: The manifold is installed with pneumatic air tools and a locking type sealant to at 1east 75# of torque. Use of a standard wrench to loosen the manifold will damage the manifold and, or gauge.

STEP 4 - Remove the vise. Use a 7/16 open-end wrench to remove the gauge from the manifold.

STEP 5-The manifold may now be removed.

REASSEMBLY

Apply thread sealant before assembly. Reassemble 1n reverse order of disassembly. Remember to i nsta 11 and tighten gauge face up before manifold 1s fully tightened.

WARNINGS

This product is not designed to function as a portable breathing or to disperse any type of liquids or solids. It is only intended for use in inflating tires or other inflatable, or other approved Trick Tank accessories. Always drain the tank of all air before repairing or removing any component parts. Point the safety pressure AWAY FROM YOUR BODY when releasing air. using the pull ring on the safety relief valve, open the relief valve to vent any pressure inside the tank before attempting to service. safety goggles must be worn for eye protection. Never WELD on a pressurized tank.

DO fill the tank at least 8Spsi and preferably 12Spsi. Remember this will be controlled by the output capability of your air compressor. Some compressors at gas only locations will produce only 35 - 55psi.

DO disperse all air pressure when removing any component on this tank for repair or replacement.

DO disperse any accumulated condensation in the tank by holding the tank upside down with the brass manifold at the lowest point and using the air pressure to force the water out of shrader fill valve using a small screw driver. Failure to remove the water from tank can cause the valve to plug up Brass can corrode from water.

DON'T REMOVE ANY COMPONENTS WHILE THE TANK IS PRESSURIZED!

DON'T ATTEMPT TO PRESSURIZE IF A LEAK IS DETECTED IN THE TANK BODY!
